After recently reading Jake White's book, I really understand a bit more about how political agenda's are being pushed behind the scenes. Everybody accepts that there must be a transformation policy, but shouldn't we focus at grass-roots level and at provincial level? The national side should still consist of the best players picked purely on merit. I doubt weather any "player of color" wants to be seen as a quota player. This is, has and always will be ridiculous and can only happen in South Africa. What a joke we are and this why we will never really be world champions even though we have the players. In South Africa, racism is not a new issue. However, it has not been removed totally what is definitely a threat for the future of South African cricket. Week in, week out we have to watch "our team" come up with yet another excuse for their failures! At times it seems that the only thing bigger than their ego's is their unearned bank balances. Last week I watched as our protea's lost to a West Indian team who were just outplayed by or "A team" What did we get? Nothing! Absolutely nothing! One change to the team. Mondi Zondeki has been bowling like a champion all season, does not even get a mention. Our best bowler ever Shawn Pollock was considered! Considered? I suppose it is like all else in our beloved country... We must just accept whatever gets given to us and be happy at that.
